Alright, so I had a quick question for whomever would like to answer.
It is Sunday night. For me that is planning night. I sit down and try to think of the various things Liliana and I can do during the upcoming week, both activities as well as mark pages in her various workbooks that we could complete together.
How do other people plan? Do you do it weekly or monthly? Do you have weekly goals that help you decide what to work on. I feel like I am just winging it and wondering if all the pieces will come together inside of my children someday.

Really, I just wing it! All the way right now. I'm looking for what I want to do in a more long term set up, but really, for now, I simply figure out what they are interested in for that day and make it work with whatever we have or wherever we are. So far it works well...we've done this their whole lives. No huge planning... I know, that will probably come back to bite me later.
I am trying to figure out a more structured approach to certain things, like Spanish, Sign Language... and even get a better directional idea for language (read, writing, comprehension), math and science.
I know some people who plan a month at a time, some who plan a week, and some...like myself, daily.
I'd say (for you), since she's only three, use the next couple of years to figure out what way works best for you to meet your goals. Re-evaluate your procedure every couple of months, or weeks, or however you feel you need. You have some time to figure out the "right" approach for you before it matters too much. You're still working with her, and she's still learning, so you're not loosing ground right now.
I am no expert, but I am a mom. So, I have to say that winging it happens even when I plan. I usually plan big things monthly and things that happen every day like Math...What I mean is that I plan regular things monthly and the rest weekly and sometimes even daily...in other words I wing it then record the work that's been done in a portfolio and I write it on a calendar...I don't think you need to do that yet.
No, but I did the first year (or 2?). It takes a while to get into a groove and find the rhythm that works best for your family. As your children get older and your family grows, a schedule will grow out of necessity. In the meantime, enjoy the freedom of homeschooling!!! Keep the (natural)joy of learning alive in your children.
